Become a Jury Member of the Choix Goncourt in 2026–2027
Following the success of the first edition of the Choix Goncourt du Kosovo, which awarded Catherine Lamarche’s Le Bel Obscur, the prestigious literary prize is returning for a second edition starting in September 2026.
Do you love reading, sharing your ideas and discovering contemporary French literature? Are you under 30 and French-speaking? Join the jury of the Choix Goncourt du Kosovo and embark on a unique literary journey alongside other young people from Kosovo.
The Choix Goncourt: French literature beyond borders. An international extension of the prestigious Prix Goncourt, the Choix Goncourt brings together young French-speaking readers from around the world to read, discuss and debate the novels selected by the Académie Goncourt, before choosing their own winner. Now organised in 45 countries, the Choix Goncourt gives young readers around the world the opportunity to make their voices heard and discover French literature.
In Kosovo, a jury of 5 to 9 young people will be formed under the auspices of the French Institute of Kosovo, in partnership with the Académie Goncourt. Together, jury members will discover the shortlisted works, share their impressions and discuss their different perspectives before choosing their favourite book.
Being a member of the Choix Goncourt jury in Kosovo means taking part in a collective literary adventure. From October to March, jury members will read the selected novels, share their impressions during reading sessions and engage in discussions and debates before deliberating to choose the Choix Goncourt du Kosovo. At the end of this process, jury members will attend the award ceremony, in the presence of a member of the Académie Goncourt and the Ambassador of France to Kosovo.

Looking back at the 2026 edition of the Choix Goncourt
The second edition of the Choix Goncourt du Kosovo follows the success of the first edition, organised in 2025–2026. Five students from the University of Pristina, forming the first-ever Kosovar jury, discussed four works of contemporary French literature:
- Kolkhoze by Emmanuel Carrère
- Le Bel Obscur by Catherine Lamarche
- La Maison vide by Laurent Mauvignier
- La Nuit au cœur by Nathacha Appanah
Following their deliberations, the jury awarded the Choix Goncourt du Kosovo to Catherine Lamarche for Le Bel Obscur, during a ceremony attended by the Ambassador of France to Kosovo and prominent figures from the literary sector.
